Hello, stranger!
Rules
We all hate them and find them a bore to read, but they're necessary.
They're all fairly obvious, but in the case that someone says "I didn't know I couldn't use chatspeak..." I need an excuse to roll my eyes;)
General rules
In character (IC)
Rules and guidelines for in character posts are different for each roleplay, but in general...
Out of character (OOC)
Character Guidelines
Accounts
A lot of sites have you create an individual account per character. You are not required to do this on TUS, but it is recommended because it makes everything look nicer and easier. If you don't, make sure to put a clear header saying the name of your character for each IC post.
Graphics
Graphics, although they are pretty and nice, are not necessary, but again recommended. Even if you just go google images and find a picture of your celebrity play-by and put that as your signature/footer.
Word count
Again, this depends on the roleplay, but please try to keep one-liners to a minimum. It's okay if you don't have muse. If you have constant trouble coming up with a decent post, try to describe how your character feels about what they are doing, what they are seeing.
E.g.
"Look!" said Benjamin. "A tree!" As they drew closer, he noticed it was not a tree, but really an old lady.
could easily become
A slightly gnarled figure was approaching in the distance, and Benjamin looked out of the front window of the yellow school bus to see what it could be. "Look! A tree!" he started. However, as the bus creaked closer, he saw that the figure was not a tree, but a short old lady standing in the middle of the road, looking rather lost.[/size]
Easy, huh? And look at how much close you feel to Ben. (Well, I hope you do, I kinda wrote that in five seconds. )
'Constructive' Criticism
If you want it, ask for it. If it hasn't been asked for, don't give it.

General rules
In character (IC)
Rules and guidelines for in character posts are different for each roleplay, but in general...
- No chatspeak. No no no. Chatspeak is evil, we shall not worship it!
- There's a spell check button. It won't harm you to use it occasionally.
- Try to keep swearing to a minimum.
- If a thread is going to contain mature content, clearly mark it mature in the title.
Out of character (OOC)
- Please do not swear. Pretty ***s are fine though.
- Please, please, please, for our general sanity, no chatspeak
- Be polite and courteous.
