Ben looked at Ellie, feeling a bit like a dweeb at her expression. He assumed she was trying to hide her laughter, but he could tell that she was amused at his ability to hurt himself. And indeed, his toe was still aching, firy hot pain raging through the limb he usually forgot that he had.
"Yeah, please, cookie," he told the strange old lady, hopping a few steps over to her and taking a cookie. They were still warm, and as he stuffed it in his mouth, he savoured the taste, deciding that he hadn't eaten anything as good in a long while. He tentatively placed weight on the side of his foot, the one without an injured toe, and found that the rest of his foot seemed to be fine. He hobbled back over to Ellie and plopped himself down onto the ground, pulling off his dusty sneaker so that he could examine the damage. His socks were a little smelly, so he glanced guiltily at Ellie, hoping she wouldn't notice, and then to Tanya, who would probably throw a complete hissy fit if she thought anything was going awry.
His little toe didn't look too bad, although the top had a nasty cut, but Ben decided that the bone was slightly off kilter, and he moaned. "My toe is broken! Whatever am I going to do?!"

Ellie watched dubiously as Ben removed his shoe and sock, wondering how bad the damage was. She was slightly relieved (and amused) to see a cut that was hardly worth fussing over. Well, she decided to let him have his drama for the time being, and played along with it, "Yes, I suppose we'll have to put it in a cast," she said. "Or perhaps it need to be amputated?"
"Perhaps," Ellie gestured at the woman, about to suggest that she may have some medical knowledge, or a bandaid, as she had mentioned before, but then realised that she had no idea of the woman's name. In addition to that, she hadn't actually introduced herself to the woman either - how rude!
Ellie stuck out her hand for the woman to shake, but then realised that she was carrying a tray of cookies, and so wouldn't be able to. Dropping her arm, Ellie smiled at the woman instead. "Hello," she said, as politely as she could, "My name is Elena Vincent, and this is Benjamin Herman and Tanya King. The rest of our class-mates are in the bus. And you are...?"
